When answering the phone in Spain you say ¡Diga!, ¿Dígame? or ¿Sí?, while in some Latin American countries you can also say ¡Aló! In formal contexts, the caller introduces themselves with a phrase like Buenas tardes, soy Carlos Urrutia. ¿Podría hablar con el Sr. Sáez, por favor?, whereas in a call to a friend they might say Victoria, soy Eduardo. Note that you say soy Eduardo (It's Eduardo) or soy yo (Speaking).
